Architecture Discipline’s work is driven by a context-driven, rational approach of ideation, which is then defined and developed by a highly technical outlook with a focus on flexibility and longevity.

Our portfolio spans varied typologies from interior projects, residences, workspaces, retail and hospitality projects, to large-scale commercial and public assignments. Notable projects include the multi award-winning Mana hotel in Ranakpur, Rajasthan (2013); the Discovery Centre, a town hall for the Bhartiya City township in Bengaluru (2014), the India Pavilion at the Hannover Messe in Germany (2015) which was adjudged the best pavilion in the 65-year history of the Messe, and the Corporate Headquarters for East India Hotels, the flagship company of the Oberoi Group, in Gurugram (2019). Other significant work includes retail environments for Forest Essentials and Perona; workspaces for Rug Republic, Delhivery, and Motherland Joint Ventures; hospitality and F&B spaces for The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts, The Postcard Hotels and Resorts; and new brand developments for The Oberoi Group in New Delhi, Agra, and Kolkata, where we are working on the refurbishment of the 19th-century edifice of The Oberoi Grand.

Critical commissions on the urban scale include JDH, an urban regeneration project within the Walled City of Jodhpur; and the Mohalla Clinics, neighbourhood-level, primary healthcare facilities for The Government of Delhi.

Our work also includes explorations in art and installations, furniture, and product design. In response to the Covid-19 pandemic, Architecture Discipline presented two concept proposals at the London Design Biennale in 2021: Life CMF, a community medical facility built out of repurposed shipping containers, and the sChoker, a digital neck piece that enables social distancing and proximity control using infrared detection.

Architecture Discipline’s work is highly acclaimed with its principal Akshat Bhatt being listed in the Forbes Bold Club: Top 30 under 45 Indian architects and designers in 2023. Our work has also won several prestigious awards, including a commendation by Fast Company’s Innovation by Design Awards (USA), Architecture MasterPrize (USA), INDE Awards (Asia Pacific), the Elle Deco International Design Award (EDIDA) India, recognition for social impact from, Kyoorius Design Awards, a commendation from the Indian Buildings Congress, an NDTV DAA Architect of the Year Award, 7 listings on AD100 as Architectural Digest’s most influential architects, 13 awards from the Institute of Indian Interior Designers (IIID); and citations from the National Gallery of Modern Art, the Alliance Francaise, and the Government of India.
